The cabin is considered personal property and the US Forest Service issues the cabin owner a special use permit which outlines the rules and regulations pertaining to having your cabin on their land. If you long to get back to nature and enjoy camping with the comforts of home, you need to see this cabin. Built in the early 1900's, it is not built to present day codes, and it can use some work; however, it's definitely livable as it is. There is an air-tight wood burning stove and a wall heater to keep you warm on chilly fall nights. The road to the cabin is paved and as you drive up you'll pass the historic Big Bear Dam Keeper's house. There are huge granite rock formations behind the cabin. The popular Castle Rock hiking trail is just a short drive up the road. This cabin is for second home use only by the owner, their family and friends; no short-term rentals allowed.
